Today I got everything that I wanted to do done. I got my links to work and my background looks a lot more appealing. By next week I hope to have my two other pages looking nice and pretty too.

for the next time we meet...
I'm still unsure if i want to continue and finish this current project or start over with my other idea. The other concept is based off of my sketchings. The theme would be that of a sketchbook of sorts and the text and visual pages would be easier to relate. But my ocean theme so far is actually looking quite good so i may just finish this one at then try to do that one for fun if i don't have the time to do it for this class.
By next time i plan to have decided that and finished my text based page (i have to write a paper for tomorrow so i may just use that)

After class 0ct 17
On my list I had spacing, fonts and title. I decided on a title and finished a graphic for it that may need work but it is at least 90% done. I did not get to work much with fonts because i'm still not sure what I'm typing to use the fonts. For next week I will have the spacing figured out by consulting a friend that knows more about this. By that time I should have more to put on the page so fonts will come more into play then.
Oct 24 goals
Today I got my steeple cleaned up as Cassidy helped me with Photoshop.
I gave her some feedback about her main page which looks great (and much more ready than mine...) ....I will try to get the Hebrew part before now and next class.

for 10/24
Today I changed my header and put it on every page. I also made some small changes throughout the site. I finished my visual project but have not imported it into dreamweaver yet. I will have that in there by next week. I will have a new navigation bar by next week too. I basically want to change the fonts and add some shadow to the individual boxes. I will also have my entire homepage finished by next week.
After next class the only thing I will have left is my "Gen-Ed" competency stuff.

Good help and for next week
I recieved good help from Jake, even though it may not have been his topic (content..., visuals meh... pretty much the same). Either way he helped me decide what would look better over all for my site even though there isn't much too look at right now.
Next week I will have the visual part of my portfolio decided on and started.

well i'm still not sure, but i'm thinking of changing my page... idea and everything... if not i'll just continue to work on my layout mostly... i'll have to finish that before i move on to the actual content of the page.
I hope to be somewhere deeper with my E-portfolio.. at least all the pages ready, if not link together too...
I didn't do much today...the 16 miles I ran took all my energy...

I will have my visual element finished by next class. I am so excited about it! I got some great help form everyone today and accomplished a lot. There were so many things bothering be about my site while I was working at home this week but I fixed most of them.
What I'll have done by next week?!?

Mind map software
Mind map was a vary useful tool (I got the feeling that I will illegally downloaded it at some point in the future...Just kidding). Jordan was my partner for this assignment but we split pretty soon as we both were interested in checking the software functions by ourselves. However, with every difficulty I had, Jordan tried to see if he can help. As a general we made a nice cover of the software from different points of view. Cassidy's group linked pictures which was pretty cool.

What I Learned Tonight
- As I was reflecting about the progress that I have made within tonight's meeting, I feel that I have learned a lot of useful information.
- I learned how to generally navigate and expanded my knowledge in a new program called Mind Manager.
- I have decided on what idea I am going to use for my visual and written text assignment: I am expanding on a previous topic I am enterested about dealing with recycling and energy conservation. This topic relates to my major of pre-professional health because it is dealing with helping the health of people and the environment.
- I am going to accomplish this task of the visual and written text assignment by adding different links and expanding the content of a new Freshman Portfolio that I am currently creating.
mindmanager - i wish if i had that when...
Meghan was my partner for tonight's first assignment for creating the mindmap. I had no idea how the program works or what the programs can do. We explored the options, tried out different ways to work with the program. Here is what we did....
1. We explored the buttons on the top
2. Then we explored the "right click" options on different objects on the map...
3. We explored the options in the right click menu almost systematically from the top what it can do or does.
4. Then we tried to modify what we had on the map and adjusted what we had, change colors, sizes, etc.
5. Looked at the placement of the things on the map and moved it around...
We did "what if...," "what does it do if we do this?" and that was how we start to get to know the mindmanager.
Then we shared what all of us did. It was nice to see what we all did.
Have a good night y'all

mind manipulator
Mind Manager is one of those programs that is relatively simple and yet can yield very complicated results... our group barely scratched the surface of the programs capabilities. We found that it was easier just to wade into the procedure instead of watching the tutorial... It was actually sort of fun...
Besides that, I learned (from Amy) how to create an e portfolio using blackboard...

mind map
the mind map tool is more useful than i thought it could be. now, i can think of many more useful ways to use it. we had a great time figuring it out and helped eachother. we had a couple problems but figured them out by exploring the different ways to do things (right clicking, file menu, icons...). we took turns using the program. this helped because we have different processes to do things.
the highlight of my day was actually later in the class when jordan and i were working on my site. he let me do the work and told me what to do instead of having the computer in front of him. i am now changing it from frames to tables to get the look i want.

Reflection
Learning a new program usually comes easy. Sometimes it is hard if i'm not familar with the way the software is set up but that can usually be overcome by trial and error. The MindManager software was interesting. I've never liked brainstorming but it still, even to me, seemed like a useful tool and makes brainstorming easier and more useful. When learning how MindManager works I realized that all it takes to learn something new is a couple of minutes and an open mind.
