Playing music on iweb when the page opens:

Step 1: Go to iweb, click file, publish to a folder. By doing so this will save your iweb draft to your idisk (kind of like a hard drive for mac users)

Step 2: Visit your actual site online and save the page that you want music to run on either on your desktop or in an actual folder

Step 3: Open your saved page (for me it was my verbal text)àopen this with text edit

A. Opening this with text edit allows you to see the html coding and makes it possible to do the following instructions:

1.Go to the following website: http://www.developingwebs.net/html/lesson7.php

2. Copy and paste the text as directions state

3.Save the page you want the music to play on i.e. I saved the verbal text page on my desktop

4. Open as a text document

5. Paste the text copied from website into body of text web page

6. In order to get it playing you will need to go to your finder-mine is Jess

7. Go to sites, click on folder where site has been saved

8. Once you do this everything that changed in the text edit and saved into the Jess folder you will need to drag into your idisk and instructions to do so are as follows

This is where I get confused and can’t remember exactly what we did, but…

8. After you click on Jessica’s site the pages will come up and at some point you’ll transfer the verbal text document with the new text inserted into it into the idisk, which is like a hard drive and then you’ll publish or save it somehow and it shows up and plays on your website once you republish it the song will play when you open up the page

9. You will also need to go where you have your song saved, for my iweb I went to finder, music, itunes, itunes music, choose the folder with the song, click on the song and drag it to your idisk and then go to web, sites, iweb, folder that your iweb draft is saved in, then the folder with the page that you want the song in, and drag the song into that folder

To go to your folder for idisk

1. Choose web
2. Choose sites
3. Choose iweb
4. Choose which site you want…for me it’s Jessica’s Site
5. If you mess with iweb again you’ll have to redo everything in your folers because iweb won’t recognize it unless you resave and transfer the documents you’re your Jess to you idisk Jess. Remember to transfer the song into your idisk folder, and open up the page folder you want it in, and drag it into that folder and volia!

Note: Go to your iweb, click on file, and save to a folder, this will make it possible for you to be able to access and save the link as discussed below

-When you do this, it will make it possible to have the music play when you click on the page and it opens up, if you do not do this, and you still insert the extra text you will still have to click on a link
